Is it more dry in Las Vegas or Phoenix? — Read On…?

It is significantly drier in Las Vegas. However, my cousin tells me Arizona is the driest hot air place in America – what’s the deal?
By the way: planning on moving out soon to either Henderson – Paradise Nevada (S – SE Vegas) or Mesa/Gilbert AZ (Just East of Phoenix). I am about to get married with possible kids, enjoy being around a fairly dense area of SHOPPING and RESTAURANTS. Do not want to have the feeling I am surrounded by GAMBLING or SINFUL RELATED ACTIVITY every time I get out.
I know these are basically two different topics, but directly related to where I move. So if neither are good choices, perhaps Albuquerque NM?

Both are in Mojave Desert and dry, depends on time of year but Vegas is hotter.
Paradise area of Vegas, not my choice. Older section and stats with police not great. Look at Picolle Ranch, The Lakes, Summerlin, Green Valley/Henderson. The problem is NO jobs in area
